At Scholastic we want to get children reading and to support teachers.

We publish great Children’s Books and inspiring and time-saving Teacher’s Resources and Magazines.

We offer school Book Clubs and Book Fairs that give every child the chance to enjoy reading and provide free books to schools.

We're celebrating

National Poetry Day 2008

National Poetry Day

Read a poem, write a poem, set a poem to music…just get involved in National Poetry Day on 9 October!

Literacy Time PLUS magazine are celebrating with a special competition to win a workshop with their poet in residence, Paul Cookson.

You can find oodles more FREE poetry resources and activities at Education PLUS.

2008 National Year of Reading

This month’s theme is Word of Mouth, so it’s a great time to investigate our engaging new Storyteller series. Aimed at developing speaking and listening skills, these anthologies with accompanying teaching materials are just the thing to get children speaking up and sharing stories.

Hot off the press…

In the beginning was the word and the word is ours...

Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen has generously created and donated, for the National Year of Reading (and for children everywhere), this spectacular poem. Why not create your own verses celebrating the kinds of words you like most?
